Lindsay Clancy: What Happened to the Former Nurse Accused of Killing Her Three Children?
Lindsay Clancy, a former Massachusetts nurse, is currently on trial for the January 2023 deaths of her three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. She has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.
Prosecutors allege that Clancy strangled the children with exercise bands at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, while her husband was away. Afterward, she attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed.
The central issue at trial is her mental state. Clancy’s defense argues that she was suffering from severe postpartum mental illness, including postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, and therefore should not be held criminally responsible. Prosecutors argue that the killings were deliberate and planned.
